◆Energy and environmental issue again attracted much attention on the Two National Congresses. In the annual governmental report, Premier Wen Jiabao pointed out that this year should focus on the national energy structure improvement and clear energy exploration primarily followed by energy conservation with the realization of energy policy and advanced technology.

◆It is reported that the nuclear power projects will be relaunched in this year due to the current imbalanced national energy structure and energy shortage, and will be expected to exceed the budget made in 2007, which refers that China's nuclear power generation capacity will probably reach 40 million KW approximately by 2020.

◆Coal would still play the leading role in providing power to China, but the amount had to be limited; while the clear energy such as PV and shale gas should be greatly promoted.

◆Refined oil was expected to be increased by at least 500 yuan per ton.
