BIT School of International Education holds graduation ceremony

The School of International Education at Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) held the graduation ceremony for the Class of 2024 International Economics majors under the Sino-US joint program between BIT and Utah State University (USU) in the comprehensive education lecture hall at the Liangxiang campus on June 11.

Lin Jie, dean of the School of International Education at BIT, announced the list of graduates who received Bachelor of Science degrees in Economics from USU. 

Jason Smith, director of the China Program at the Jon M. Huntsman School of Business, USU, and Deputy Director Jared Delisle awarded the USU bachelor's degree certificates to all graduates. 

Jason Smith also announced the Outstanding Student and Excellent Graduate award winners for the year and presented them with honorary plaques.

Janis Boettinger, vice provost of USU, congratulated the students on their successful graduation on behalf of USU. 

She told the story of the academic journey of Dr. Lars Peter Hansen, a USU graduate and the 2013 Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences, encouraging the graduates to remember the motto of the Huntsman School of Business, "Dare Mighty Things," and to achieve greater success.

Wei Yiming, vice president of BIT, warmly congratulated the 2024 graduates on having successfully completed their studies. 

He extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the USU delegation attending the ceremony and expressed his high respect for all the teachers, family members and friends who have supported the students' growth.

The event concluded with a group photo of all the guests and attendees.
