Ph.D. student from BIT receives award at academic conference in Australia

Li Weilong, a BIT doctoral student, receives the "Young Researchers' Travel Award" at the "Climate Change, Environment, and Cardiovascular Diseases" academic conference held at the Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney.

Li Weilong, a doctoral student at the Energy and Environmental Policy Research Center of Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT), attended the academic conference on "Climate Change, Environment, and Cardiovascular Diseases" at the Charles Perkins Centre, University of Sydney, in Australia on June 28.

Li presented an academic report at the conference and received the "Young Researchers' Travel Award" during the conference.

The conference was co-chaired by Professor Ralph Nanan, director of the Charles Perkins Centre, Professor Gemma Figtree, chair of the Australian Cardiovascular Alliance, and Professor Stephen Simpson of the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at the University of Sydney. It aimed to promote interdisciplinary research on the effects of climate change on human health.

Li Weilong, one of the three who received awards, is engaged in joint training and exchange studies at the University of Sydney. His presentation, The Impact of High Temperatures on Physical Activity and Chronic Disease Costs Among China's Older Population, was based on the research conducted in collaboration with Professor Liao Hua, his domestic academic supervisor, and Professor Ying Zhang, his overseas academic supervisor.
