Step 1 Stage of manned spacecraft

January 5, 1998, Beijing Aerospace City.

14 pilots from the Air Force took off their flight logos and replaced them with a golden aerospace logo inlaid with the earth logo. The Chinese People's Liberation Army Astronaut Brigade was officially established, turning an important page in the history of China's aerospace industry.

On November 20, 1999, the magical Tianhe spacecraft set sail. The "Shenzhou-1" unmanned spacecraft was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and China has become the third country to master the technology of "going back and forth between the sky and the earth".

On January 10, 2001, the "Shenzhou-2" unmanned spacecraft was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. This is an important progress made in China's manned spaceflight undertaking, which has laid an important foundation for the implementation of the follow-up missions of the manned spaceflight project.

On March 25, 2002, the "Shenzhou-3" unmanned spacecraft was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and completed all the scheduled scientific experiments and exploration tasks.

On December 30, 2002, the "Shenzhou-4" unmanned spacecraft was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and its configuration, functions and technical status were exactly the same as those of the manned spacecraft.

On October 15, 2003, the "Shenzhou-5" spacecraft carrying astronaut Yang Liwei was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. After successfully completing various scheduled tasks, it returned to the main landing site safely. The millennial dream of the Chinese nation has been realized.

On October 12, 2005, the "Shenzhou-6" spacecraft, carrying astronauts Fei Junlong and Nie Haisheng, was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. It achieved multi-person multi-day multi-cabin flight and returned to the main landing site safely.

Since the high-efficiency video encoding and decoding technology developed by BIT was first applied to the Long March rocket in 2005, it has continuously carried out technological innovation and product upgrades over the years, and continued to provide technology and services for the launch of the "Shenzhou" series of spacecraft.

The BIT team also participated in the design of the diversion system of the "Shenzhou-6" manned spaceflight project, and weaved the tail for the rocket.

On September 9, 2006, China's self-developed "Shijian -VIII" space breeding satellite was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. This is an important test for China to explore the long-term survival of human beings in space.

On September 25, 2008, the "Shenzhou-7" spacecraft, carrying astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Liu Boming and Jing Haipeng, was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, realizing a number of technical tests such as astronaut exit activities.

The BIT team undertook tasks such as the transformation of the space simulator training communication system in the "Shenzhou-7" manned spaceflight mission, and solved the problem that the sound feedback of the return cabin communication device affects the quality of the call, and won the "Memorial Award for the Success of Shenzhou-7 Manned Space Flight".

On October 30, 2009, the "Shenzhou-7" concomitant satellite worked normally for 400 days in orbit, flew 6,350 times around the earth, entered the atmosphere, and fell naturally. The flight test mission of the concomitant satellite was successfully completed.

On October 27, 2010, China's manned space station project was officially launched.

On September 29, 2011, the "Tiangong-I" space laboratory was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. This is China's first space laboratory and the starting point of the Chinese space station.

On November 1, 2011, the "Shenzhou-8" unmanned spacecraft was launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and completed a rigid connection with the "Tiangong-I". China has broken through and mastered space rendezvous and docking technology, and is getting closer to the goal of long-term space residency and space station construction.

The microwave radar signal processor and microwave transponder signal processor of the BIT team provide them with precise navigation. Since then, this technical service has guaranteed the manned spaceflight rendezvous and docking missions.

The "Microfluidic Chip Gene Amplification Device" developed by BIT took the "Shenzhou-8" to automatically realize the human gene microfluidic chip amplification experiment under orbital conditions.

On June 16, 2012, the "Shenzhou-9" spacecraft, carrying astronauts Jing Haipeng, Liu Wang, and Liu Yang, was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and conducted two rendezvous and docking with "Tiangong-I", completing China's first manned rendezvous and docking mission.

On June 23, 2013, the "Shenzhou-10" spacecraft, carrying astronauts Nie Haisheng, Zhang Xiaoguang and Wang Yaping, was launched at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and achieved manual rendezvous and docking with "Tiangong-I”. China’s manned spaceflight missions have won consecutive battles, leaving a unique Chinese mark in the deep space and vast universe.

On February 9, 2015, the Long March 5 carrier rocket successfully completed the test run of the core-level power system.

On June 25, 2016, the Long March 7 carrier rocket was launched for the first time at the Wenchang Space Launch Site in China.

On September 15, 2016, the "Tiangong-II" space laboratory was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center. It is China's first space laboratory for manned space science experiments with supplementary functions.

The robot binocular vision precise guidance system developed by BIT has helped the international first "man-machine cooperation on orbit maintenance scientific experiment", and has accumulated valuable experience for China's space robot on orbit service.

On October 17, 2016, the "Shenzhou 11" spacecraft, carrying astronauts Jing Haipeng and Chen Dong, was launched at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center, and achieved automatic rendezvous and docking with "Tiangong II", creating a new record of China's manned space flight time in orbit.

On April 20, 2017, the "Tianzhou-1" cargo spacecraft was launched at the Wenchang Space Launch Site, and completed the first in-orbit test of propellant supplementation with "Tiangong-II".

The "Space Microfluidic Chip Bioculture and Analysis Load" led by BIT was on the " Tianzhou", and automatically implemented a variety of cell in-orbit co-culture and analysis during the orbit, and many technologies reached the leading level of the international space life science load.

On September 22, 2017, "Tianzhou-1" was controlled to deorbit and re-enter the atmosphere after completing the mission of the space laboratory phase and subsequent expansion tests, successfully completing the mission.

On December 23, 2017, the Space Law Center of the China National Space Administration was established in BIT. The space law team of BIT has successively undertaken the projects of the National Social Science Fund, such as "International Legal Regulation of the Commercial Use of Outer Space", "Outer Space Security and China's Countermeasures", and the research on national space legislation, to help international cooperation and peaceful use of the space station through the rule of space law.

On July 19, 2019, the controlled re-entry mission of the "Tiangong-II" space laboratory was successfully completed, and the entire manned spaceflight project was transferred to the Tiangong space station to prepare for the battle, and the third-step strategy was fully launched.

On May 5, 2020, the Long March 5B carrier rocket made a successful maiden flight at the Wenchang Space Launch Site, marking the successful first mission of the Chinese space station stage.

The team of BIT carried out simulation verification and reliability modeling theoretical research on the reliability design of the engine igniter of the Long March 5 carrier rocket, providing advanced pyrotechnics theoretical support for the smooth implementation of the space station launch mission.

On April 29, 2021, the "Tianhe" core module of the space station was launched at the Wenchang Space Launch Site. This is the first module launched into orbit by the Chinese space station, and it is also the first time that humans have used the electric propulsion system on a manned spacecraft.

BIT has successively participated in the fixed force installation test of the space suit backpack outside the spacecraft, the design and simulation of the large cargo installation tooling in the cargo spacecraft cabin, the installation simulation of the semi-sealed cargo compartment pallet, and the installation and disassembly process simulation of the oxygen filling wrench in the return cabin, etc.

On June 17, 2021, the "Shenzhou-12" spacecraft, carrying astronauts Nie Haisheng, Liu Boming and Tang Hongbo, was launched at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and successfully docked with the "Tianhe" core module, completing the first manned flight mission in the space station stage. China's manned space industry has stepped forward in the new stage.

On October 16, 2021, the "Shenzhou-13" spacecraft, carrying astronauts Zhai Zhigang, Wang Yaping and Ye Guangfu, was launched at Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center to complete the autonomous and rapid rendezvous and docking with the "Tianhe" core module and the "Tianzhou-2" and "Tianzhou-3" combination.

On June 5, 2022, the "Shenzhou-14" spacecraft, carrying astronauts Chen Dong, Liu Yang, and Cai Xuzhe, was launched at the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center and successfully docked with the "Tianhe" core module.

The clock points to zero time again, and thirty years of years are in the blink of an eye. Over the past 30 years, in accordance with the "three-step" development strategy clearly defined by the Party Central Committee, generations of astronauts have continued to struggle and overcome difficulties, successfully completing the first two-step tasks, and will soon complete the orbital construction of China's space station, fully realizing the "three-step" development strategy mission objectives.
