Levinas' Differenciating Metaphysics and Ontology

摘要:在西方哲学中,形而上学和存在论本来是一脉相承的,但勒维纳斯通过对“超越”的论述,把二者区分开来,认为存在论实际上是从自我出发的一种权力理论,而形而上学由于是从他人开始的“存在论之外”的思想,因此不仅逃避了权力,而且确立了伦理学的可能性。本文认为,鉴于西方思想长期以来陷入了存在论和知识论的泥潭中不能自拔,勒维纳斯的这个思想对当代西方哲学就具有了重要意义,并对后现代哲学产生了重要影响。Abstract:In western philosophy, metaphysics has ever been identifying with ontology, but by the concept 'transcendence' Levinas differs form them. He thinks ontology is in fact a theory of power generated from 'ego'. Metaphysics not only escapes power but also founds the possibility of ethics, for it is a thought beyond ontology that starts from 'the other'. This paper argues that Levinas idea shows us an important sense for understanding the contemporary western philosophy because western philosophy has despairingly been falling into the ontology and the theory of knowledge. Furthermore, it has greatly affected the postmodern philosophy.
