Institute of Detection and Control, School of Mechanical and Vehicle Engineering, Beijing Institute of Technology, is a professional research institute engaged in ultrasonic nondestructive measurement technology. It is based on the National Key Discipline of Mechanical Engineering and the Key Laboratory of Defense of Advanced Machining. The lab is mainly oriented to the forefront of the national defense science & technology industry, national economic development and the real production demand, focusing on residual stress ultrasonic testing and high-energy sound beam control technology, manipulator ultrasonic non-destructive testing technology, ultrasonic microscope, ultrasonic scanning non-destructive testing technology, complex rotary part laser measurement technology, material elasticity parameters and coating thickness measurement technology, etc.

The Institute of Detection and Control currently has 8 faculty and staff members, including 1 professor of doctoral guidance (1 person in the new century), 7 associate professors, 7 senior experimentalists, more than 10 doctoral graduates, and more than 40 postgraduates. Has residual stress ultrasonic testing and high-energy sound beam control system, high-frequency ultrasound microscope two, composite mechanical double-mechanical defect detection system of rotating parts, single-manipulator ultrasonic automatic detection system, bolt fastening stress detection system and other test conditions, the total value About 2,000 million.

The Institute of Testing and Control has undertaken and completed a number of scientific research projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China's key projects, major national science and technology projects, national special projects for international cooperation, advance equipment research, and horizontal enterprise, and has achieved a number of scientific research achievements. He won a second prize for national defense science and technology, a third prize, and a first and second prize for China Science and Technology Group Corporation. He has applied for and obtained more than 60 invention patents and published more than 130 academic papers, including more than 30 articles in SCI.

The Institute of Testing and Control undertakes the teaching of many undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Such as Mechanical Measurement Technology, numerical control technology, fluid mechanics B, computer principle and application, machinery manufacturing equipment technology and production practice.

The Institute of Detection and Control has been adhering to the guiding principles of combining basic theory with engineering applications in teaching and scientific research, focusing on cultivating talented people with excellent academic skills, paying attention to international academic exchanges and cooperation, and serving the development of non-destructive testing technology in China.

Figure 1: Residual Stress Ultrasonic Detector

(Note: Residual stress ultrasonic non-destructive testing technology is based on the research of acoustic elastic principle. Through accurate measurement of the ultrasonic wave propagation speed or time (sound time), the magnitude and state of the residual stress in the component can be detected.)

Figure 2: Twin robotic composite ultrasonic transmission nondestructive testing system

(Note:Under the support of the national “High-end CNC Machine Tools and Basic Manufacturing Equipment” major projects, a number of key technologies such as positioning accuracy control, trajectory planning, and simultaneous acquisition of spatial location information of scanning points were conquered, forming composite materials for rotary components and complex surfaces, complex manipulator ultrasonic testing system for complex components such as complex components.)

Figure 3: Manipulator assisted nondestructive testing system

(Note: Under the support of the national "high-end CNC machine tools and basic manufacturing equipment", the key technologies such as the blade defect detection and the scanning trajectory planning of the pulse echo method have been broken through, and the automatic nondestructive testing system for the blade defect and thickness of aero engine based on industrial robots has been successfully developed to reach the international advanced water. It is of great significance to improve the quality of aeroengine.)

    Figure 4: Scanning acoustic microscopy

(Note: Under the support of the National Natural Science Foundation, a set of high frequency ultrasound microscope has been developed, which is applied to the detection and failure analysis of semiconductor and electronic packaging defects, quality inspection and analysis of circuit board welding, material texture observation and research, biomedicine and other fields of non-destructive testing and observation.)
