The 4th International Conference on the Explosion, Shock wave and High-energy reaction Phenomena（ESHP）was held on Mar.27-29， 2013, in Okinawa Japan. About 100 participants from China, Germany, Russia, United States and other countries attended this conference. The topics in this symposium are mainly about: (1) Deflagration, detonation and other high energy reaction phenomena; (2) Shock wave and related phenomena in condensed and gaseous phase; (3) Response of materials under high-rate deformation; (4) Innovative applications of high-energy-rate phenomena. About 80 papers were accepted, in which 40 oral presentations and 40 posters.

Prof. Pengwan Chen, Dr. Kaida Dai, master student Jianrui Feng and Prof. Cheng Wang attended the conference. Prof. Chen gave an oral presentation entitled “Shock processing of materials at Beijing Institute of Technology”. He presented the recent advance in explosive welding, explosive compaction and explosive hardening in BIT.

Suggested by Prof. Pengwan Chen, the conference committee agreed that the next conference of ESHP will be held in Beijing in2016. Looking forward to meeting you.
