Professor Pengwan Chen and Dr Baoqiao Guo attended the 21st DYMAT Technical Meeting

The 21stDYMAT (European Association for the Promotion of Research into the Dynamic Behaviour of Materials and its Applications) Technical Meeting was held on the 18-20 November 2013 in London, UK. This conference was organized jointly by the IOP (Institute of Physics, UK) Applied Physics and Technology Division and the DYMAT. The co-Chairs of conference are Professor Fabrice Pierron and Professor Janice Barton, and both of them are from University of Southampton, UK.
The topic of this conference is “High-Speed Imaging for Dynamic Testing of Materials and Structures”. More than 80 participants mainly from Europe Union, USA attended the conference. About 30 oral talks were presented in the conference. The talks mainly consisted of the full field measurement techniques by high-speed photography and its application into the dynamic behavior of materials and structures.
Professor Pengwan Chen and Dr. Baoqiao Guo from BIT attended this conference. Professor Pengwan Chen chaired the first session about “SHPB and DIC”, and he also gave a presentation entitled “Experimental study on dynamic response of thin metal discs under blast loading by using 3D Digital Image Correlation”. Dr. Baoqiao Guo gave an oral presentation entitled “Measurement of stress wave propagation based on the high-speed DIC method”.
