Lecture 1: Construction, application and declaration of first-class courses

On April 9, 2021, the first lecture of "Lecture Hall of Famous Teachers-Postgraduate Education Reform and Innovation Series" was held in Main Building 418. Professor Zhao Erqiu, a research expert on ideological and political teaching of BIT and the first batch of famous young teaching teacher in Beijing, was invited to give a teaching lecture entitled "The construction, application, and declaration of first-class courses", combining his own research thinking and teaching practice on first-class courses for many years,conducted experience of teaching and exchanges with participating teachers. Associate Professor Deng Jianwei presided over the lecture. Secretary Yan Zhijun, Deputy Dean Zhang Xiang and more than 20 teachers of the college participated in the lecture.

Professor Zhao Erdong interprets five aspects of the status quo and policies of our country’s first-class courses, how to develop rich media micro-classes based on information technology, how to build an online first-class gold class that students love to watch and learn, and how to build an integrated gold class based on textbooks and MOOCs,with first-class course application to share his own research and thinking, specific practice and experience. Professor Zhao Erdong used humorous language, objective and detailed data, and vivid cases to explain to the participating teachers the key and difficult points in teaching plan design, course recording, and first-class curriculum construction, and put forward the attention to teaching goals and morality in the first-class curriculum application. It is an important suggestion that teaching goals are combined with cultivating people by virtue, the combination of teaching content and ideological and political spirit, and the combination of teaching methods and information technology.

Professor Zhao Erdong’s experience teaching aroused great interest and resonance from the teachers. The teachers said that the lecture was very beneficial and full of dry goods. Participating teachers had in-depth discussions and exchanges with Professor Zhao Erqi on various issues such as the online and offline hybrid teaching mode and the matters needing attention in recording courses.

This series of lectures is an important measure to respond to the "breaking five principles" requirement in the reform of education evaluation, implement the deployment of the "Overall Plan for Deepening Education Evaluation Reform in the New Era", and strengthen the ideological and political construction of graduate courses and educational reform and innovation. The college will carry out a series of lectures for teachers to promote the construction of first-class courses,textbooks, and famous teaching teachers.
