On November 28, 2018, at 3: 00 p.m., “The inculcation of SME: Youthful teacher telling the story of struggle” was held smoothly in Room123 of the administrative building on Liang Xiang Campus. Ang Gao, the excellent youthful teacher and dean of Department of Organization and Human Resource Management, together with more than 20 outstanding undergraduates from School of Management and Economics participated in thecommunicative activity.The lecture was mainly given by Mr. Gao, focusing on his reading experience, college life and graduation planning under the title of "A few thoughts on college life".
Gao shared his experience of studying at Tsinghua University. Taking Calculus as an example, he told the students the distance between himself and the super students, which resonated with them. He told about the efforts of the envied super students in his university, and said that the best way to close the gap was to work hard, grasp effective learning time, and constantly challenge their limits. He encouraged the students that after discovering the distance, they should maintain a positive mind, set up goals, and try to improve themselves.
Gao took aiding education in Yan’an, Gansu investigation and the survey in Lankao as examples to remind the students that they should not only study, but also go out of the campus, understand the society, and combine the knowledge of books with the social knowledge. Gao further put forward and explained the idea that “there is not necessarily an optimal growth path in the university”, and told the students to learn to examine issues from different angles and choose thesuitable development path for themselves.
Finally, from the perspective of interest and life, Gao put forward some suggestions to the students. He pointed out that every student had his own interests. He should stick to his field of expertise, and spend college time studying diligently with a quiet mind on research, to give full play to their own advantages; At the same time, they should pay attention to “two health”-mental health and physical health, which is the basic elements for their ideals.
“The inculcation of SME: Youthful teacher telling the story of struggle” is the characteristic practice of promoting the “Three-wide training” tutor system, which is jointly put forward by the Teacher's Ideological and Political Studio and the School of Management and Economics. This work combines the practical activities of the “four good teachers, four guides” and the educational activities on the theme of “Taking on the great responsibility of rejuvenating the times and being a newcomer of the times”, aiming to make the struggle stories of learning by the excellent young teachers inspire and motivate freshmen to better plan their careers, set up great ambitions and make unremitting efforts on the road of fulfilling their dreams. At the same time, the multi-dimensional cordial communication between teachers and students is helpful to promote mutual understanding between teachers and students and promote the effect of education and teaching. It is beneficial to create the cultural atmosphere of “home” in the academy, and form the talent training joint force. In the future, this activity willsuccessivelyinvite more excellent young teachers to tell the story of struggle in order to guide students to carry forward the spirit of patriotic struggle and make achievements in the new era.
