"Professors face to face" (Phase 3): Supply chain information sharing and channel selection under the platform economy

On October 28, 2020, the third "Professor Face-to-face" theme lecture of the Academy of Economics and Management was successfully held in Room 102, South Building, Liberal Arts Teaching Building, Liangxiang Campus. Professor Li Guo, dean of the Department of Technical Economics and Strategic Management, School of Management and Economics, Beijing Institute of Technology, gave a lecture on "Supply Chain Information Sharing and Channel Selection in Platform Economy" to the students of the college and academy; more than 100 students from the college and academy listened to the book Lectures.

Professor Li Guo first led everyone to discuss the motivations behind some common platform decisions. As the discussion deepened, everyone's interest was deeply attracted by the topic, and the class gradually improved. Professor Li said that the principles behind these interesting decisions attracted him to carry out relevant research. Subsequently, Professor Li took the cooperation between Midea and JD as an example to raise the issue of supply chain information sharing and channel selection under the platform economy.

In response to this problem, Professor Li mentioned that he introduced a series of related platform and supplier decision-making variables such as platform fees and rates, franchising costs and product demand information coefficients in his research; Under the two different processing methods of keeping the information held by the supplier confidential or sharing it with the supplier, the supplier and the platform make decisions based on the difference of the platform cost, and use the Cournot game model to help students proceed. understand. Later, Professor Li shared his interesting findings in this research with his classmates, which gave the classmates a deeper understanding of the relationship between supply chain information sharing and channel selection under the platform economy.

In the second half of the lecture, Professor Li shared with us his many excellent experiences on how to publish high-level papers in the course of years of research. He also said that creating knowledge is more important than transferring knowledge, so that we have a deeper understanding of the significance of scientific research. Many students who were troubled by the thesis empathized with Professor Li's experience and smiled knowingly; the classroom was full of joyful air.

At the end of the lecture, Professor Li Guo and Professor Zhao Yuandong had a further discussion on how to resolve the contradiction between inspiration and data in the scientific research process. Professor Li was funny and humorous. He cited examples of researchers who entered the enterprise "undercover" to obtain data and dedicated themselves to scientific research, which pushed the atmosphere of this lecture to a climax; the whole lecture ended in a relaxed and happy atmosphere, and everyone's thoughts were still unfulfilled.
